Publicity
Nick reported on the work of the publicity sub-committee.
a] The text of the letter which is to be sent out to all the organisations in the parish had been discussed and a draft arrived at, which was read to the meeting, and agreed. It was also agreed after some discussion that the letters should be circulated by the secretary before Christmas, with a request that responses are received by the committee before January 21st 2003.
b] The teaser was discussed, but as there was some disagreement about the wording it will be finalised next meeting.
c] The potential logos were distributed and discussed. By a majority design 3b was chosen. [ see the attached sheet ].
d] It was agreed that if we need to put our own addresses on any publicity material we will use Aerial 8pt. type.
e] It was emphasised that all parish plan communications will be on green paper, and if envelopes are used they will also be green. Colin was warmly thanked for agreeing to supply all the paper and envelopes.
Kathy then helped us fix our views on what we were actually aiming to produce. It was agreed that this was a cohesive Parish Plan, which incorporated minority issues.
The meeting in Shoreham Village Hall, which is planned for December 7th from 10am. to 1.30 pm. Was then discussed. It was agreed that we would all do what we can to publicise this meeting. It was also agreed that Jan would provide the mulled wine and mince pies, and that orange juice would also be provided for the children. Sheila and Jan agreed to be there for the whole of the time and Sylvia and Marian said they would be there for part of the time if at all possible.
A Parish Plan workshop, run by Kent Rural Community Council, is to be held on November 23rd at Harrietsham Village Hall and Nick and Marian said they might go.
Jan distributed lists, showing members of the committee who would follow up the letter to the various organisations, to try and ensure that we receive a response.
